Set Yourself Up For Success - It's An Individual Mission!

When we traditionally think of our first meal of the day, we think breakfast. Most think we get up and we eat right away to start our day. However, our first meal of the day can happen at any point in the morning.
Some people are in the habit of waking up and eating right away, others find that waiting until later in the morning to have their first meal is more beneficial for them.
It really depends on one's
- morning schedule,
- hunger cues, and
- purpose of that first meal
For instance, I like to exercise first thing in the morning. There is no way I can eat a large breakfast and go for an early morning run. My go to for quick morning running fuel is a small serving of unsweetened apple sauce, a carb that will be easily digested and give me the spark I need to power through a run without weighing me down. After a good work out I am more ready for a healthy breakfast that replenishes my energy levels to jumpstart me into my day.
Whether you like eggs, oatmeal, or any variety of healthful foods, morning fuel can be both tasty and nutritious. Getting a healthy start at a time that is right for you may help you gain momentum to make better eating decisions throughout the rest of your day!
