It is no secret that coffee can give us that extra jolt of energy in the morning to get our day going. But did you know that caffeine may aid in weight loss and could potentially increase athletic performance?
According to a recent article in WebMD (see link below), drinking strong caffeinated coffee a half hour before an aerobic exercise may increase fat-burning. This article from Web MD gets their information from a new study published in The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition.
The article also states that caffeine has a greater effect on fat-burn if exercise is performed in the afternoon hours as opposed to the morning hours.
There have also been quite a number of research studies that show the effect of caffeine on athletic performance
For any of the Athletes looking for information on how caffeine can affect athletic performance I have included a link to a different study on Caffeine And Athletic Performance also published in The Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. The 11 bullet points in the abstract found at the beginning of the study summarizes the research findings for those who do not want to read the whole study.
Happy Reading!!
